Angry power problem

I have AC power in the trailer but no DC, including the lights. All the breakers are in the right position, and the AC outlets work, but DC is dead. Does that mean the coverter is hooped?
cheers

I don't see a model year for your trailer...if it's older ('70's-'80's), the converter may have to be manually set to shorepower for it to put out 12volt to the fixtures.

If so, and the setting is correct, older converters also usually contain a fuse that may have blown.

The Burro is 2000, converter is a Newmark (sp?).

Is there a model number on the converter?

I've never seen a hooped coverter before... sounds like another big setup!

Mike, Mike, Mike...

According to my lovely assistant Miss Technojargon:

"Hooped" is a shortened version of the more technically correct
"this thing is so broken it might as well be a hula hoop for all the good it's doing me".

There is a magnetic contactor located in the lower right hand section of the Newmark (same area as the DC fuse panel). With shore power cord plugged in, turn off the AC breakers and then back on. Do you hear the click of the contactor? If so, you should have DC produced by the converter and at least some of the DC circuits should be live.

Sorry to be so long in reposting and thanks for your advice. And I love it when weird crap happens. After wrestling the mattress out (FT bed) and moving it to storage, when I went back in the trailer, all the lights were on - as in, the DC circuits work fine. No loose connections I could find, nothing else changed. Mattress putting out an EMF (lol)? Any advice? Psychics?
cheers

Question:

Is your hair all standing up on end when you wake up on that "electric" mattress?

Sounds like you joggled some wires or something when you moved the mattress out. And if it's as awkward to get such a thing out of the trailer as I think it is, the loose connection could be anywhere that you dragged the mattress passed, inadvertently somehow "closing" the (loose?) connection.

If that's the case, it's probably only a temporary "fix". You might do at least a visual inspection of the areas involved, looking for possible bad connections....

Francesca

P.S.

All "electric mattress" jokes aside: Is it by any chance one of those heated ones? If so, your problem might be located right there or wherever it's plugged in.
