I am considering making a tongue box for my propane and battery. I know there are venting issues for both the propane and battery. I have seen some people put propane and batteries in the same compartment without addressing the venting, just wonderin if anybody has created a box that has vents to make it safe.

Just looking for any ideas or pictures.

Thanks

Matthew,

I made a box for my generator and propane.

What I did was have the tray (bottom) made out of expanded steel. Then I built the box that is attached to it.

The deck plates are for access to the generator controls although I did make a hinged lid.

That would do fine for your propane/battery box.

I have tongue box envy. I just moved the propane over and bolted on a battery box. Nothing fancy. Not even worth a pic but if you really want one....

Joy, When we saw you at Quartzsite you were going to put sound insulation material in the tongue box. Did you get around to it yet and, if so, how much of a difference did it make in reducing noise transmission?
