Questions: Hunter Compact battery

Do you think my camper ('73 Compact II) was built with battery power originally? If so, where would the battery have been mounted? And what do you think it would have powered? Right now, everything works when we plug into 110 - except a round ceiling light over the sink. Maybe that light ran off 12 volts at one time. Or maybe it's just broken.

I had a 1973 Compact II that had a factory installed fiberglass battery box near the front, under the bench seat on the right side. It had a vented metal door to the outside.

I have a '74 Compact II, and it did have a battery compartment under the bench seat, refrigerator side, with the metal vent door. No battery was present there anymore, and the 12v wiring was a mess.
I gutted my trailer, redid the 12v wiring, and mounted the battery on the tongue, outside the trailer, which is safer.

My camper has never had a vent door in that position (under the bench seat on the curb/passenger side and forward of the trailer wheel). Neither is there a battery box anywhere. Do you think that means there was never a battery there?

It looks like the consensus is that it may have had 12v at one time. Can you remove the cover on the non working fixture? You should be able to tell pretty quickly from the bulb.

You may find some evidence under the seats or behind tghe cabinets of 12v lines.

Sure looks like a standard 12v bulb to me. Now to trace the wires or decide if it's worth the trouble.

You might be able to replace it with one of those instant LED fixtures with a battery to get light in that area.

My 1973 Compact Jr had no battery or evidence that there was ever one.

Agree, from here that looks like a 12 volt bulb. Nothing there looks like 120 volt. Not the switch or housing.

Thank you friends. I'll trace those wires and see where they lead.
