Refrigerator replacement in 2004 Spirit Deluxe

Refrigerator Replacement on 2004 Spirit Deluxe

Fridge stopped working all together so replaced with smaller 3 way dometic. Model number of new one in photo. It had to go in through back window….No other way even with smaller fridge. Had to sawzall the old one to get it out through the door. Fridge in and working great - dc,ac and propane. Window back in with no leaks this time. Just need to trim up the fridge area and put in baffle by coils. Smaller new fridge made space to store Coleman stove and charcuterie board. Here are some of what we hope will be helpful photos for anyone getting ready to do this replacement. I will say it was not as bad as we thought and Camping World was very helpful getting us the new fridge. You have to order the black front door panel separately, and the have it cut or cut it yourself to fit the smaller fridge-they only come in 1 size. You will see in photo of new fridge that the silver insulation is showing cause we are having the panel cut at local glass installer. It is not glass -we forget what it is. We used the styrofoam to help insulate and secure the new fridge. Also butyl tape didn’t work for window reinstall=it leaked so got frost king weather seal-it did the trick no leaks this time. So we are in the home stretch. Hope some of this info is helpful for those looking at fridge replacement. Also need to put the sheet metal baffle in to force air up in vent area. Say it helps cool the coils. That is being cut at sheet metal place today. This does not come with the refrigerator. Happy camping!

Any reason you didn't move to a dc compressor fridge?

Hi. Needed propane option. It was not easy choice. We rarely have hook ups and just thot we should keep the propane option. *♀️. We will see if we made right choice.
