Removing glued mount without ripping exterior

We have an old bicycle mount on the outside of our RV, and it needs to be removed and replaced with a new one which will fit the modern bicycle. Unfortunately the old mount is glued as well as screwed on...the glue (which may be silicone-based, as where it has oozed out a bit, it is putty-like) is holding like a rock and we cannot pull off the old mount. We don't want to rip the outside skin of the RV, obviously. Does anyone have an idea for removing it?

Try a heat gun and see if that softens it. Keep in mind it will be real easy to get it so hot that it damages the fiberglass.

Might try cutting between the mount and shell with a piece of fishing line.
