Removing Heavy Oxidation on White Areas of RV

Any recommendations for the best products that remove heavy oxidation on white areas (now yellowed/cream color) on RV?

Any experience with any of the following products for removing heavy oxidation on white areas?

- 3M Marine Restorer & Wax

- 3M Imperial Compound and Finishing Material

- 3M Super Duty Rubbing Compound

- Marine 31 Gel Coat Heavy-Cut Oxidation Cleaner

- Meguiars One Step Compound

I use a son-in-law with a Porter-Cable polisher and his choice of compounds ( see pix ).
I've also used 3M Marine Restorer and Wax ( Step 1 ) with good results.

Barbara, I just finished doing the roof of our Lil Snoozy, and used the
- 3M Marine Restorer & Wax, followed by Meguiars M6332 Flagship Premium Marine Wax to keep the UV rays at bay. This process was recommended to me by Greg from Scamp Owners International, who has used this process with great success for years. If your gelcoat is very oxidized, then you may want to use the heavier 3M product first, and work your way down to the originally recommended products above.

We used Meguairs Marine Fiberglass 3 Step Restoration system on our Scamp. It was very chalky and oxidized and it REALLY made it shine. Labor intensive, because it's three steps (and I put two coats of wax on, so four steps) but I would recommend it.

If you have yellowed areas, it is possible the gel coat is worn thru. If this is true, the best you can hope for is shiny.

If the yellow is dirt, fading and general neglect, you can probably restore the white shine.

My camper had black dots all over it from artillery fungus. Nothing removed them until i tried 'Fast Orange Hand Cleaner with Pumice'. The black spots are (mostly - I need to hit a few more) gone, but the trailer still needs a good wax job to completely restore the shine.

I purchased my Escape and it was badly oxidized and yellowed in some parts. I tried 3 different products that where recommended. What finally worked was FSR Fiberglass stain remover on the yellowed areas. 3M finesse-it finishing material with a high speed polisher, 3M restorer and wax, and finally a carnuba wax. Shines like new now. Need only a little quick wax to keep it up while it sits in my garage . Taking it out in the weather next weekend for the Ft Langley egg meet.
