Hi...we are new to this forum and are looking for some help. We need to replace the support board, of the upper bunk, in a 1986 Scamp. Any suggestions how to do this? Is this screwed into the frame, or fiberglassed in? Please help us figure this out. Thanks in advance. JoJo

I'm not sure what a Scamp is like, but on my Trillium the back of the sofa hinge is screwed into the board under the front window. To replace that board you would have to unscrew the lower edge of the front window and it should fall free after your remove the material from the inside. Now if this isn't what your talking about just ignore me and I will go away. Just kidding

Well Steve is partially right and since Scamp's don't have a frame that leaves fiberglassed perpendicular to the body.

Did someone remove the one from your Scamp or is it badly damaged? Because this one piece totally supports one complete side of the upper bunk, you'll need to be completely confident in your ability to properly fix/replace the piece. Otherwise whomever is sleeping in the bottom bunk may be injured by a falling bunk and the body in that top bunk.

By the way...WELCOME to FiberglassRV, we're glad you're here
