I did try searching but wasn't successful --

The trailer I bought has a cracked upper window in the rear door. I'm trying to figure out how to get the slider out so I can replace the glass.

It looks as though I should be able to just retract the latch pins and the inner window frame would just pop out. So far, looks have been deceiving.

Any pointers of where to look for this info?

Thanks!

You should be able to push the window to one side and then it should come right out. The frame of the window has springs on one side that hold it in the frame. This is how I replaced my broken glass in my Compact Jr. Please let me know if this works for you

Perfect!

I was trying to slide it to the wrong side. Once you told me about the springs I knew I had to slide the window toward the springs -- the side that looked the "emptiest". The windows popped right out.

Thanks for your help -- now off to Home Depot for the glass and safety chain, KMart for the side marker lights (the contacts of the old ones are too corroded), then I'll be ready for the DMV tomorrow.

This is ridiculous -- I'm still stumped by the window.

I have the window out of the outer frame, and now I need to open the inner frame to replace the glass. When I looked at it last night I thought all I need to do is prise out the L-shaped clips in the corners. I tried prying them out, and also hammering them out with a drift, but made absolutely no progress.

There are 2 dimples in the aluminum frame on either side of the clip, so I drilled out all four dimples that match up to the two legs of one L-clip. After much muttering, prying, and etc. I did manage to get one corner open, but I also broke the L-clip in the process.

So how does one take apart the inner window frame without breaking things?

Thanks!

That is the easiest thing to do.............take it to a hardware store who replaces glass and let them do it. That is what I did $15.00 is all it cost me.
