Trailer: 1978 Trillium 4500
Posts: 1
Hello all! I'm new here and hope I'm in the right place. We recently inherited a 15 foot 1978 Trillium 4500. This is the model with the bathroom. Ideally we'd like to eliminate the bathroom and replace it with bunks. Has anyone done this? Does anyone have any suggestions? Can this be done?

Thank you!

Here is a link to pictures of her if you are interested. (Bathroom not shown).

It would be a lot easier to find someone with bunks that wanted the front bathroom and do a swap or swap with $$.

A well maintained 4500 (with bathroom) seems to be a desirable model. I'm with Roy on this one. Or sell outright and find a model that has the features you want and make the purchase.

We just bought a 4500 also and are trying to figure out the same question. Did you get your bunks? We've removed the countertop and are trying to get the sink out now and figure out how to build in some extra seating

I say we should be very supportive of her decision to keep it and make it work for her family which is obviously her intent. Owning Grandmother's Trillium...how cool is that!

You don't just trade away a family heirloom that has family memories in it.

If you need more sleeping space then buy a bigger trailer.
Removing the bathroom to install bunks seems like a lot of work for little or no gain. When I sold my 1999 Scamp , every prospective buyer asked if the trailer had a bathroom .
You are lowering the resale value by removing the bathroom IMHO
It's your trailer so do as you wish but in the long run it will be a very expensive mod.

Looks like the best solution is... TWO trailers. One with bunks to use until the kids grow up, or at least big enough to use a tent, and keep the heirloom for when it's just the two of you. .

I would never consider buying a trailer which doesn't have a bathroom. Removing it will be spending time and money to decrease the value. Also, a time will come when the kids would prefer having a bathroom for use than the bunk beds.

Randy,
You may want to try sending the OP a PM. They have only posted once. If you are lucky and they have the right settings on the board and their email address is still valid - they might get your enquiry.

On edit: They also have a facebook link in the post. If you do the facebook thingy you might be able to contact them that way.

I did PM the OP right after someone dragged this thing out of the past.... I thought it was wasting my time but at that time I didn't want to post on the thread and drag it back to the top.... but since it keeps coming back.. I figured I would ask on the thread that if someone else had one they would see my post if this thing never dies.....
