Good Morning,
I'm rehabbing a 1997 16'
Scamp. The hot water heater is currently not functional. The pilot will not stay lit.
I've already replaced the thermocouple with no change. Next step is replacing the gas valve, it might be the issue since the spring mechanism in the knob is broken and it's the original valve.
I got this replacement valve and confirmed it is the correct match:

My question is, has anyone else done this? And if so, how much force did it require to remove the old gas valve? I've disconnected all the gas lines and now just need to unscrew the unit from the trailer. It's seized on there and I'm not sure how much force is safe to apply. I'm hesitant to apply any sort of penetrating oil or applying percussion to loosen it.
Any advice from anyone who has done this before would be appreciated.
Thanks!
