Replacing Hehr Crank Out Window on Scamp 13

This is a call for help, depending on advice I receive here to do now or later.

As many know, my 13 was in an accident with factory repair. Not all dings were caught or shall I say tended to.

Roadside rear Hehr crank out window suffered a ding/divet to the top metal frame. I think divet is wrong word as it sort if triangulated outward, away from FG she'll body.

Stress cracks in FG above were cap'n tolley'd in with no further spreading. No leaks.

However, that space of triangulation between FG body and window frame didn't look good to me, and I was concerned it would leak now unless I did something. So I siliconed in the little space well. Don't beat me up too badly.

If I go out and take a couple pics, would anyone be willing to advise me of urgency to replace?

Then, I would need patient phone help to do so, if advised to, from someone who's done this window. Of course I would need a couple beers too.

Best pics I could get. Frame is not really pushed out bad at all! Caulking looks kinda crappy in photo, but that's just strings of silicone. Not that bad in real life (the silicone job that is).

Two of photos are looking down on, other is straight on. Hope they help. Click image for larger version

I had to reseal the Hehr windows on my Trillium. I think Scamp uses the same series. If so, this might help. Raz

If it's not leaking and operates OK, leave it alone. A wrecked used trailer is never going to be perfect again, accept it for what it is. When I bought a Hehr jalousie window from Scamp to put in our Uhaul it came with stick-on foam tape to seal it to the fiberglass. I couldn't get the window to draw in tight enough to seal. Had to pull it back out, peel off the foam tape, put it back in using butyl tape. I would have used Pro Flex sealant where the ding is, but that's another debatable subject and there may be better options. But it's worked for me to stop the leaks I had.

I didn't mean to sound ungrateful. I know my trailer is not perfect, but I love it and accept it's faults as the price was one I could afford and still have one.

I was asking because I wanted others opinions more learned than me. It is painfully obvious to me and others that I'm a newb, with about 99% theoretical knowledge and 1% limited experience!

Our trailer is far from perfect too. I believe you are worried unnecessarily over a very minor flaw. If there is no leak then just consider it a blemish and forget about it. Some things are best left untouched, as in Let sleeping dogs lie!!

That's a cute way to look at it Dave! Thinking about that metaphor, my little girl must be an absolute knockout! . Too cute, thank you.
