I think i need to replace my hinges. I was thinking of the scamp ones even though they are different. Has anyone done this? How was the process/result? Are there any other hinges anyone would recommend? thanks a lot

We too will be replacing the hinges on our Boler and after perusing the internet found this:

Kason hinge part #139, available at Refrigerative Supply here in Edmonton for about $80.00 CDN. I am not 100% if they are the identical ones but they do look like they would work similar. I was able to find a pic here:

Not sure when you might be doing it we will be doing ours in the spring and will be looking into it more then. Once we look into it we will let everyone know.

Cheers,

Ursula

Why do they need to be replaced? If they aren't actually bent or broken you may just need to replace the "ball bearing" and bolts, which are available from Scamp.

Cyndi,

I assume you mean the hinges for the esterior door, not the interior cabinets Just want to clarify.

Ursula,

Wasn't that Brenda Novakowski talking about one of her Trillium trailers? If so, they use completely different hinges -- their door is much less "aircrafty."

As far as I know, Paul Neumeister does sell the original Boler hinges, if you want those (OTOH, the extra support of the three-fastener base of the Scamp hinges would probably be beneficial albeit they would require a bit of drilling and filling).

Boler hinges:

Edited to add: Hmm, I no longer see the complete hinge on Paul's parts site, but it might be worth a call to him to double check, as I think I remember seeing them there before (in addition to the rebuilding kit).

Hey there, I do believe I saw it for a trillium. Of course I can not find it now but I had a look at the ones that I currently have on our Boler and they look identical. When my brother in law had a look at it, he said as long as we got the ones that were offset we shouldn't have a problem using them. Although I haven't tried them yet as I want to do more research. We may be looking at building a whole new door and cold potentially incorporate them into the design.

Thanks so much for the link to replacing the hinges and to setting us up for a place to get them

Cheers
