Rim bolt pattern?

Has anyone changed rims to a mag/aluminum wheel? Wondered if it was a ford bolt pattern etc and what would fit.

Eastern Marine in Newark De. has a good selection of aluminum trailer rims at fair prices. Thats where I get mine. They go on sale every several months at 10-15% off.
I have been told the aluminum Ranger deer hoof print wheels fit the bolt pattern but the center hole is just a little small for the hub and has to be ground out. (So I was told.) I would stick with trailers wheels with 0 offset. Also buy extra long lug nuts when you buy your aluminum wheels.
Eddie
The bolt pattern is 5 X 4.5 for 3.5K axle.

Send a message via Yahoo to Darwin Maring
Look at the northern tool site for rims.

Some Auto rims will not work on trailers because of the big center part of the hub.

Lots of trailers use alloy wheels, including Scamps.

I suspect that the rest of us are assuming a 2004 Scamp 19'... perhaps John added that detail after Floyd's post.

Yes, while Ford has used many bolt patterns, it seems that when people say "Ford pattern" they mean 5x4.5" ... although I don't know if any Fords still in production actually use this pattern. My Ford Focus and my Ford motorhome certainly don't.

Common current 5x4.5" (also called 5x114.3 mm) car/SUV/minivan wheels do not fit a typical trailer (including a Scamp) properly for three reasons:
  1. they are larger than 13" diameter (you can go with larger tires than stock, but then need to consider what fits in the wheel well) Note on edit: despite earlier published specs, the stock Scamp size might be 14" - see later posts
  2. they have far too much offset
  3. the centre hole is too small for the protruding trailer hub
A Ford Ranger wheel usually fits, but the easiest source is wheels which are intended for trailers.

I'm not familiar with specific Ranger wheels, but in general those to fit 4WD trucks tend to have a large centre hole to clear the driven front hub.

Mine is a 14" 5 hole with 4 1/2" pattern = chevy wheel.
The Snoozy sits on a boat trailer.

But the traditional Chevy pattern is 5x4.75"... this is why it's not safe to assume anything based just on car brand.

The Scamp specs recently said 13", but currently (just after a website update) say 14". 14" makes a lot more sense for a 3500 pound axle capacity... was 13" just a website error? Scamp 19' experts: what tire size should this trailer have?

I note that among readily available ST tire sizes and load ranges, an ST205/75x14 LR-C ("x" can be "D" or "R") is the minimum tire to meet the 3500 pound axle rating

I''m thinking it's 13", the trailer is nine years old. Scamp did make a change to the 14" tires, I just don't remember when. So, we won't know tell John says....

2004 S-19 std. came with 13" tires load range C. tires. With the lift mod. most people went to 14" or 15" tires and wheels. I ran 13" on a lifted S-19 trailer with no problems. If I were buying new wheels and tires I would go with 205 14s and maybe 15" if I had a full size pick up.

No Brian, I just missed it in his signature, but it is nice to know that there are others who don't read any more carefully than I!

Scamp bolt pattern

This 2004 19' has 14" wheels. I was able to purchase a set of new pacer
alum trailer wheels and fit perfectly and looks great.
