Roof quick fix

Hey just have a leak in this one corner of my unit have found the holes I think are the problem as they are in a low spot just wondering the best quick fix that can get me through the winter until I have time for a full exterior repair? For short term and emergency repair I always carry this with me. It seals, stays pliable and can be removed easily when you want to make a permanent repair. Great for fixing leaks temporarily when those darn rivets pop while on vacation. Although it says "not for outdoor use' it works fine for several months without any problems. You can find it in the electrical section as it is used to seal conduit.

Do you know how well it will do under a pool of water?

Sorry not sure. it is very pliable like play putty, work it in your hands some to soften it and then make sure it is pressed well into the holes and onto the fiberglass roof. It is so cheap (less than $3.00) it would be worth trying it and then soaking the area with a hose to test

For a quick waterproof fix, may I recommend 2 inch aluminum tape. Cut, pull the backing, apply. I have used it on all types of outdoor repairs. I have covers on my beehives made from salvaged steel roofing. The tape is what I use on all the screw holes. Been working great for a couple of years. Less than $10 for a lifetime supply.

It's available at most home improvement and hardware stores.

If your temps are warm enough why not just take some gelcoat to fill the holes then leave a layer over the section. You don't have to sand it down until next year. I just did the same repair but mine wasn't leaking. Just came in from wet sanding in the rain.

Mine was leaking I have it under cover now but there was moisture trapped between the ensolite and the fiber glass just trying to get the moisture out before I trap it all in there... Three holes go right through the glass I'm not sure if i can just put some bondo hair in there. I would fix it proper but I'm running out of time before I have to drag this thing back to work.

You could go with plumbers putty until you can get at it next spring and do a proper repair.

I have had great results outdoors with this type of tape, and it doesn't leave a residue behind when removed even left on for years.

Epoxy putty is another option - it will last under water for sure.

I've used something with a different name, but same stuff as what Carol suggested to plug holes where I took off the stinky slinky and spare tire on my Scamp. Works exactly as described.

Mostly finished the interior reno of my Boler. As a result I have many unfilled rivet holes on the exterior. The aluminium duct tape works great, I've covered all of the exposed rivet holes with small pieces. I've had it on the Boler for a year now including a 4000km road trip in September. I've not yet had to replace any of it

Yes so have I and I can't for the life of me recall the other product I have used that is the same idea - think it was you Donna who recommended it to me. There are lots of putty type epoxies out there though - some other brand names are AquaMend, PC Marine Epoxy putty and Marine Tex also makes one premixed one for emergencies as well.

This is the brand I've used Carol. I'd recommend wearing disposable gloves when kneading the two parts together. It sticks to fingers really, really well.
