Scamp 13' License Plate screws

I am looking to mount the license plate on our new 13' scamp but the screws from pepboys are to long. I am afraid the end of the screw will rub the fiberglass. How did you mount your license plate?

I've always bought stainless steel license plate screws at my local Ace Hardware. Since they have many different lengths, I can touch the screws to measure them unlike at the big box stores (Home Despot, etc.).

You can use plastic bolts (screws) and put them in with the heads toward the Scamp. If the arms of the license bracket are metal, you can bend them outward away from the fiberglass.

Simple solution to a simple problem. Reverse the bolts so the head is on the toward the trailer.

I used SS bolts instead of Screws. I used what I had in junk box.

Scamp license plate screws

Hi. I also found it somewhat challenging to attach the plate without damaging the fiberglass. I purchased 1" stainless bolts with washers & lock nuts. The bolt head is behind the plate and the washer & nut is on the outside. Make sure the bolt has a hex head and not one slotted for a screwdriver. A small open ended wrench holds the bolt while nut is tightened. Once done, you shouldn't have to deal with it for years. Good luck.
