Scamp 13 paint job and conversion questions

Hi guys!

This is my first post, and I am so excited to be a part of this community!

I bought a 2000 scamp 13' for $3500 off of craigslist. it is in very good condition but has two issues:

- It is covered in black plasti-dip. I thought i could just peel it off, but it was applied too thin and doesn't peel off. It looks like to remove it would require solvents that would also damage the clear coat. i'm thinking about painting over it and would like advice on how to get a good result without paying too much. A local RV shop quoted $4,000 for the job! Wow!

- The small toilet room seems like it will not get much use. I wonder how difficult it would be to convert this to a bunk-style setup. Can you gurus lend me your advice?

Thanks!!

Bill

The original finish on a Scamp is Gel Coat not clear coat. Gel coat is a modified polyester resin and extremely durable. You should be able to carefully use solvents or paint strippers on the finish without any harm. Just try it on a small test area and do no leave it on too long, rinse off well when finished.

This one uses WD-40 and a power washer:

Wow Donna that works really well! Maybe softening it with a hairdryer would work as well?
