Scamp & Front Bunk Beds

Help..Has anyone ever done (or seen) any kind of mod. to make the front bunks in (some) Scamps a more
usable sleeping area for a full sized adult ? I've tried taking the top bunk off, and that helped some with the support bars gone but still need a little more "width" . I've had a few ideas, but none that were reasonably simple to do for night-time sleeping and un-do for daily (in/out) activities.

How about some plywood that you would "slide" out into the door entry way using some wooden temporary supports to hold it up. You could try to use the "top" bunk mattress as the "slide" out mattress.

The widest area of a Scamp is at the belly band. If you need that width, the only thing I could recommend is what I've done (but it's not un-doable easily). I built a permanent bunk, with more storage underneath. The plywood bunk portion was cut out around the back cushion support area. So if need be, the entire bunk area can be removed, the back cushion (and hinges) remounted and it's back to the original configuration. This is not something to be done everyday, but maybe if I was looking to sell the trailer and someone wanted the gaucho option.

After using the front top bunk for a while, I built a bunk across the back at about window level.

One problem with the top bunk was that it was sagging in both directions from constant use.
The other was the lack of ventilation in the front of the egg and subsequent mildew from condensation buildup from my breath. Rather than quit breathing, I decided to build a bunk where there was better air movement
