Does anyone know what "key" (for lack of better description) is used inside a Scamp to lock the door? It usually hangs with a small chain, and is inserted in the door to lock it from the inside.
Ours is missing, and I'd like to find another one.
Cotter pin, has the ring at one end for the chain. Cut the tapered ends off flat. Just needs to be big enough to fit in the hole. Does not really need to be a snug fit.
Bear really wants in they just take the hinge pins off with a pair of pliers.
Basically anything "hard" that will fit in the hole! It's the most simple of locks because it STOPS the outside door handle from moving down and opening the door. Doesn't get more simple than that and works as intended.
I want to know, how does someone lose that pin? I've got the original door lockset on my 26 year old trailer and that original pin is still there hanging from the chain....

Mine was gone when I bought the trailer (2004) model. I bought a new latch from scamp because spring was weak, did not come with lock pin.
I used a lynchpin from hardware store
I replaced the whole latch because of a weak spring. The replacement part didn't have the hole for locking pin. So I figured there's not locking pin on my tent zipper and so I guess I don't need one on my Scamp door.

The Scamp inside door latch looks almost identical to one I installed on our old teardrop, but the one I used has a lock button that you flip to lock it. Compared to the old L300 on our Uhaul, the Scamp latch seems like a cheap afterthought to solve the door problem.
Places I camp, I carry my 9mm with me anyway. Please knock first!
You might have to enlarge the hole in the latch to use that thing to lock the door, but it shouldn't be too difficult!...
Use the Glock to mod the lock!
