Scamp Jensen astro vent help

Hi I am replacing my 17x24in Jensen astro vent lid. Previous owner had put one on it that is the wrong size. I have ordered new operating mechanisms and new lid, but cannot find the crossbar anywhere. Without it the operator will not have a track to slide against or hold the vent down. I do believe this size complete vent is out of production. Other than fabricating something myself, does anyone else have any other suggestions??
