Yes, I had the same concern about the paint not flexing, and instead just cracking and peeling off the very flexible vinyl.

So far, has not been a problem, even when people or cargo has bounced off the elephant hide.

I painted my ensolite as well, caulked the seams and have had zero issues, but I used a very good SW Duration paint and SW exterior caulk, actually the same I have painted my house with for the past 15 years. The paint is expensive but very flexible.

Seam tape

I tried replacing seam tape a few years back but it just fell off the walls. After a search on youtube, I filled gaps with paintable caulk and painted with 2 coats of Kilz 2. Turned out awesome and I was very happy with it. Don't waste your time and money on that foam tape. It don't work.
