Scamp silverware drawer issue
Anyone have a clever way if securing the silverware drawer closed
Ours seems to want to slide partially open
I've gone so far as changing tire pressure...... Even taking out some of the items thinking it was overloaded
I'm Sot of thinking of using
One of those baby security straps but really don't like the look
Any ideas from you clever folks would be appreciated ( pics would be great)
As always thanks in advance

Never had a problem with mine in 10 years and lots and lots of miles.
I think it's supposed close and drop the front down just a bit to catch on the opening lip.

Interesting.... I checked mine doesn't do that.... And i know it is all orginal as j purchased it from original owner and nothing has been modified
In fact it wasn't used for over 12yr and only 3 times after she purchased it( it is a 1993 13' standard scamp)

Phlip-it latches. About $10 for 2. Designed for cabinet doors but work on drawers also. Google it.

We used to find ours on the floor once in a while. Especially after a long day of travel. This cure it of this ill I cut a notch shallow notch with the table saw just behind the drawer front so that the drawer sits down onto the framing better. Now we just lift a Bit as we open at he drawer. That was about 20 years ago and haven't had a problem since. Thanks for the memories.

Hi Alan,
I don't know if this is standard, but my silverware drawer has a screw at each side near the back of the drawer that sticks out I to the sides of the drawer space and act as a stop so the drawer can't be pulled out all the way unless they're removed. Do you have that and if not would they help? Sorry if too simple a reply, just made me think of mine. Best of luck!

When we got our Scamp, it had a little wooden notched piece set into the fiberglass with one screw. Turned down, it held the drawer shut. Turned to the side, it allowed one to open it. I accidentally threw it away after repainting the drawer, so we no longer have it, but our drawer actually sticks a bit, so it hasn't been necessary. You should be able to see it in this picture, taken the day we purchased it.

Do you have the standard, or deluxe interior?
Ours is a 16 ft 2000 deluxe.
the drawers have, I think, a spring clip and striker that hold them closed.
you may be able to put in a magnetic catch.
We had a problem with the smaller drawer, below the sink, falling out when pulled out. I cobbled a etal strap, screwed to the back of the drawer to act as a stop. But, by lifting the front of the drawer it can be taken out.

what if you put a Velcro dot inside the face of the drawer & its mate on the FG? it would take some force to pull it open. when the drawer is shut you would not see anything

Sliding drawer
Drill a hole in the side of the drawer back far enough to get your hand in there and put a nail in the hole long enough to prevent the drawer from opening all the way, like they do with the screws in the back of the drawer. Put the nail in when you move and pull it out when you get there. This works for me on the big drawer under the seat on my dinette seat.

Here's one more... How about a child safety latch? Mounts inside the drawer, so nothing visible and no extra holes in the fiberglass. It would allow the draw to come open a couple of inches at most.
