Has anyone been able to find a quality diagram source for the American 20 Amp Converter Charger? Or has anyone found a "person" (with phone number) that knows the specifics about these things? (Think the folks at Scamp know anything?)

I keep blowing the fuse between lug #1 (that's the 12V power in connection) and the bus bar energizing the other lugs. Obviously there's a short, but I'll be danged if I can figger out where...

Robert, this sounded familiar. Ronnie posted problems with the American converter a couple of years back. There was quite a bit of discussion, maybe some of it will help you:

Americans' support is kinda limited. I called them and asked for a schematic... They said for insurance reasons they could not provide that.... Even to an electronics repair shop...... But they can sell you a new board for $75....

One more thing.... Boards like that are notorious for cold solder joints. Have you put it under a glass and looked at all the connection points? a bad joint or an arcing joint could maybe cause your fuse blowing. I had that issue on the converter I put into my trailer last spring. Had one of the connections on the board loose. I just reheated the point with my iron and it fixed it. Just a thought.. I have a completely different brand of converter.

Thanks. I'll do just that.

B 4 I would pay anyone $50 or more for a new board, I would just order a new unit from the site below for $39.95.

Here is a Scamp site that sells parts.
