Screen door latch replacement

Has anyone found a metal screen door latch?

I don't expect the (Amazon)Lippert 201471 RV Right Entry Screen Door Latch to last long. One reason is that the Lippert 198252 RV Outside Screen Door Striker broke about a month after I took delivery of a new trailer.

A latch and striker made of metal would be ideal, but Google and Amazon searches have not turned up anything.

I was thinking of adding a pull handle, but there is not much room between the screen door and the outside door.

Any thoughts will be appreciated.

Do like Scamp does: Rivet a nylon flat pull strap to pull open. Flat enough to allow closure.

Do you have any pictures for this? We find all the plastic things don't work real good either. I'd like to do something different.

This is what Escape used to do. Not elegant. It works.
Just a piece of webbing and a rivet.

Wife said no to the pull latch. I just ordered a latch that purports to be all metal, see below. I will try to report back here when it comes in: I may or may not put it on because the one I have is not yet broken, but I can see it is only a matter of time.

Make sure you keep it with you. Our friends had an extra one and left it home. Of course theirs broke while traveling. We've had plastic ones break twice.

Jan, I told my wife exactly that: I expect to have to replace while traveling. I am thinking I will put it on now and take the plastic one as a replacement. I just hope I don't mangle the door up trying to find this new latch...
