Self-adhesive rubber(or like) gasket tape recommendations sought.

This is my fiberglass travel trailer.
Modeled after the 1930s Mullins, it was at one time available as a kit. Please recommend the self-adhesive gasket to go on the outside of the box, where it meets the hatch. Previous owner put, what looks like butyl self-adhesive gasket tape on, but it's not enough; during travel the hatch rubs on the box edges, and scrapes the beautiful paint job. I want something very durable, that'll stand up to that play. Thanks!
