Separating shell from frame

I am in the process of purchasing a 1984 13' scamp. The trailer is in bad shape and looks like a total rebuild. I was wondering if anyone could give me advice on how to separate the shell from the frame. I've searched the forums and not found any anything on this process. Is there an easy way to jack up the shell from the frame or is brute strength required.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

The shell is mounted to the frame using carriage bolts and fender washers. The best way to find most of them is from underneath.

Hopefully someone who's recently separated the two will pop in with further info.

Please keep us in the loop of your rebuild, sounds like quite a project. We'd love to see some pictures of the process too!

I know there are pictures here, seen some with the body on 5 gallon buckets. Someone else fabricated plywood jigs that fit under the belly band.

Basically you jack up the entire trailer, cut the bolts/screws etc. support the body then lower the frame.

Thanks for the insight. I went out to my 16' Scamp trailer and took a look. Now this makes perfect sense.

Have not heard from the seller of the 13' Scamp trailer as of today. I will be well prepared to attack the trailer when/if the purchase goes thru.
