Shower Rod Install

Tried using standard molly type fasteners will no luck. Can't get it to 'bite' into the fiberglass shower stall. Therefore they won't 'expand' behind the shower wall.
I bought some standard toggle bolts for my next attempt. They were marked/sized at
1/8 in X 2 in. They are 3/8 in at the widest. I hate to enlarge the 1/4 in hole I have drilled. Any ideas for installing a curtan rod in a fiberglass shower stall?

I used Construction grade no more nails to fasten wood blocks on my Boler to fasten my curtains. No drilling involved and once dry it is there forever.

Thanks. Could you be a little more specific on the brand of adhesive?
'Liquid nails' or something else? Do you tape things in place until the adhesive sets?
Any prep work like sanding to roughen up the surface?

Is 'no more nails' a brand name of an adhesive?

No More Nails is made by Lepage I use the ultra interior/exterior. No taping required as it is Instant Grab & will stick to almost anything. I did not od any prep just put it in place,held it for a minute or so and let it cure overnight.

I don't think 'no more nails' are sold here in the states. At least not here in Texas.
I did find this however.
'Loctite Power Grab Tub Surround Construction Adhesive' Looks promising.
Seems to be made to adhire to tub/shower surround fiberglass. Made for hanging soap dishes, towel bars etc.

Hi Jim,
I have purchased No More Nails (MN) in the past, however I much prefer the Power Grab. It holds objects in place instantly and when dry have never had it lose any adhesion.

Also, I had added a tension-mounted shower curtain rod in our 13' Scamp. The flexing while towing caused it to shift and fall, so I mounted closet rod cups on the walls where the ends of the rod would be. Voila! Removable shower rod and the half-inch lip on each cup prevented the rod from coming down on its own.

Well, one should not undertake outdoor projects when the temp exceeds 100 deg F.
Today it was 106 here.
I got the rod installed finally. Had to drill a 7/16 in hole for the toggle bolts. I then used some locktite brand adhesive. Couldn't find the Locktite Tub and shower adhesive of course. Between the adhesive and toggle bolts it is very secure now.
I installed what is called an 'extend-a-shower' shower rod.. It gives you about 6 more inches of shoulder room. I am really going to enjoy a shower without having the shower curtain wrapped around me.

FYI: This rod specifies that the opening be a min of 36 inches.
My opening was only 33 in. Mfg advised that I could take two inches off the center rod. The rod comes in 3 pieces.
