Sliding Front and Back Windows

I’ve seen 13' Scamp campers with sliding rear windows but I’ve haven’t seen a sliding front window on a Scamp, is there a reason for that? The curvature of the front and the back of the shell look to be pretty close to the same.

I have a mid 80's Scamp 16 that came with sliding front and rear windows. In rainy weather I had to travel with a 1/2" piece foam behind the gravel shield to keep the water out when on the road. My Compact II has a top hinged front gravel shield, this works much better in keeping out water on a front opening window.

Tom, you must have a curved back Scamp. That upper area was changed to a flat back sometime early 1980s and that allows a sliding window. You could always do some fiberglass work and build the area up to put in a sliding window, but other than that.. I don't know how a sliding window would curve to the body... the same goes for the front.

Okay…that makes sense. I didn’t realize that the back had been changed to flat on the newer models. I was perplexed about the curved back and how a sliding window would work on it.
