Small exterior hatch/box

I was in Lowes today looking for an exterior 110v outlet for my Scamp. I decided to try and kill two birds with one stone and find someting large enough to cover the 3" round hole where the old 115v wire entered the Scamp.

Originally I was just going to use one of these plastic waterproof covers. It would have worked perfectly but I wanted to add outside power.

Looking around I found this little weatherproof outlet box for $5 and now I can imagine lots of uses for it. I'll use it for my outlet and I'll use it for my landing gear switch.

Steve, this set-up looks better than factory, and way better than the round cover. Good job.

You should buy a box full of those, remark them "RV" or "Marine" and sell them on eBay for $25 each.

If you need some they're in the electrical department at Lowes. I kept looking around to see if they were mis-marked.

Also notice the jagged edge in the photo. That is the hinge. They can be made to open length-ways or sideways. Then you can simply trim off which ever excess you don't use.
