small spongy floor right inside door

I spent a lot of time cleaning the outside of my 13 foot Scamp last weekend and must have gotten too much water in by the door and now the floor is spongy. After looking underneath, the rest of the floor is very good. Still sealed nicely so I don't want to replace the whole floor. I found a YouTube video on repairing with marine plywood and resin (by the quart). Has anyone ever accomplished this?

Appreciate any help or advice you can provide!

Do a search. There has been a lot of discussion on the topic. I recently replaced a small section of floor beside the door in my Compact Jr. Would have preferred what you are doing, but I let it go to far.

Is it rot? Rot will not occur in just a couple of days. If the floor dries out but is still spongy then I would assume an undetected long term leak and not a single camper washing leak.

Thanks! I wonder if I really know how to use this site to its fullest. Usually, I just read what pops up - or what pops up when I search in Google (which is how I originally found the site.) I will try to learn a little more about searching topics. Thanks for responding.

Gordon, that's a good point and makes me feel less foolish for maybe causing the problem by too aggressively washing it.

Good news

The good news is the walkway next to the door is a separate floor section in most Scamps. Even if not there is plenty of floor frame support to just replace that section. There should be no fiberglass work required except coating the bottom of the floor with resin. When replacing flooring sections in the center floor area you place adhesive calking between the wood and metal framing.

I usually search this site from google by entering what I'm looking for followed by 'fiverglassrv.com'. I have difficulty searching from the site on my phone, but not my computer.
