I am hoping some one can help me out. We are looking at purchasing a 1977 Trillium 4500. It seems in pretty good shape, however when we lifted up the carpet, there was this huge what appears to be a split in the fibreglass floor in front of the galley. There was a clear tape over it as well. The owner said it is actually a seam as the galley is inserted into the trailer during production.

Have any other owners of 4500 seen the same thing?

I had removed all the flooring in my '78 4500. Yes, the whole sink/stove-top unit is a seperate moulded fiberglass piece. There is indead a "seam" about 2" out at the base that has screws holding it to the floor.

PS. I miss my egg

Thankyou very much Kevin, That is reassuring. If I may bother you a little more. The shelf with thes sliding doors over the bunks seems to have disconnected from the trailer at the right hand corner. Would you know how that is attached. I cannot see it as it is covered by the Ensolite, which is also all sagged out because of this break. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, I no longer have the Trill so I'm going on memory here. I looked at my pictures and blew up a portion of one showing the area in question. It looks like the "hump" that surrounds each window. The hump is actually a piece of wood glued to the outer shell. the wood gives you something to screw the shelf into.
Sorry I can't offer more info.

Thanks again Kevin, The picture of the hump gives me an idea of what to check for to see if I can re-attach the shelf.
The picture of the floor joint is exactly what mine looks like. Thanks again for all the info. I hope I will be able to do the same for someone sometime in the future when I have more egg experience.
