Started gutting the 74 boler....pics!

well here she is

Nothing to write home about now, but MAJOR work being done to this thing this winter....ensolite cannot be saved as you can see, so i'm currently searching out other viable options.

will finish gutting it all by tomorrow, floors, everything. Will update with more pics, but she's pretty dirty and yucky. But whats winter without a project!! I promise you this will be a one of a kind boler....

finished gutting the thing. more work done removed all ensolite except for the rook which i think i can salvage....now have to figure out how to get this damn glue off.

Going to replace the floor, noticed big hole, but was going to put checkerplated flooring in it anyways...next i will take the floor out and snap more pics.

ground away the ensolite glue with this grinder,
works well but make sure u wear pants long sleeve shirt and respirator.

stuff gets everywhere and if it makes contact with your skin, will give you a million little slivers....coming along good got about half the inside done in about an hour, not too bad.

not too much to add but i add lots of pics during this build

Finished grinding majority of the ensolite glue off....wow what a bitch that was. No matter how much you cover up your arms will be covered in microscopic slivers lol.

Going to be removing windows next and prepping the walls to be covered in aluminum. I decided on aluminum because i need strong reinforcement and seems like the most logical choice.

ha ha still sideways,

hey what thickness of plywood did you use to fill the big holes?, 3/4 or something thinner?

i have a hole in the floor of mine where someone hacked in a toilet, but i think that 3/4 is too think to cover it?????

anyways thanks for the pics, we'll be doing this soon to our 73'

Paul

the big holes i think it was only 1/8 plywood, maybe 1/4 didnt know there was some kicking around the shop. I didnt want to use anything bigger than 1/4 because i didnt want a huge chunk stick inside the interior....the amount that is sticking out inside is fine.

with the 4 layers of glass, the wall is really strong.

got some aircraft glue for free which was handy gluing the left side of the door entrance back together to the door frame which you can see....stuff works awesome.
