Sticky elephent skin (ensolite)

The interior covering of my Scamp is sticky to the touch.Cleaned it with soap and water a couple times . Still has this real sticky feel .What do I need to clean it with ?

did you buy it from a smoker?

Windex works good on nicotine slime, as does 409 or any other spray type cleaner.

I have an older 13' Scamp that is Navy surplus and very nasty inside that I am refurbishing. .
I have used TSP, the powder you get at the hardware store, for the first layer of grime and the Clorox spray with bleach for the finishing clean. It is working very well. The Ensolite is looking almost as good as when it was new.

It has a kinda smoked in smell but I think its something else that has caused the stickiness.Its not discolored.The lady I bought it from put 409 on the walls but I don't think would cause the stickiness.
John I'll try your method .I was as going to try TSP next so you pointed me the the right direction.
John are you leaving the seem tape on or replacing it ?

Most of the seam tape was missing and it was an orange color. I am replacing it with white seam tape that I purchased from Scamp.

I had a horrible time with duct tape glue, some black tar type stuff and some gooey white sticky stuff the previous owner tried to cover seams and stick on seam tape with. After trying many products I purchased goof off - originally got it at the paint store but I think you can get it anywhere as I have since seen it at home depot. It is far more powerful than goo gone and much different. Will remove just about anything (they even warn it will remove the glue under carpet if not careful!).
Anyhow...not sure if this will work for you but I was pleased with the results removing all the yucky stuff from my trailer.
