The experience is exactly the same like in any other state.

Laws would be different community to community.

Laws would be different street by street.
I got a ticket for having my tent trailer on the street, unattached from tow vehicle.

I had to park my trailer (attatched) overnight in Toronto. I have a permit for the TV but couldn't find any info and took my chances. No ticket.

I asked a parking enforcement officer what the deal was later. He said he wouldn't ticket unless there was a complaint. The ticket goes to the plate on the trailer.

He also, in not so many words, let me know that because you only register your plate one time in Ontario that the ticket would never come back to you if you didn't pay it.

This is just one example in one city in one province but you may have similar laws.
