Tabbing?

I've seen this term used on several post talking about "Sagging Doors" and the separation of support of the front bench and the outer wall by the door. Can someone tell me what this is and how it is done?
Thank you

I believe you’re referring to adding extra layers of fiberglass to make a 90° tab out from the wall. My Casita was very old and all the interior was shot so I had to grind down a little bit of the fiberglass on the wall and then glass in new wooden supports all the way around the bed frames and the front couch. You cover the new wood with fiberglass and fiberglass it back to the original wall and after it cures it makes the little bracket.

Hey Becky, the term tabbing is fairly generic and the above post helps explain the actions required but if you explain your problem preferably with pics someone can better help you.

For me to be of any help I would need more context.
Pics at a bit of distance so a close up means more. Also with the door open a pic into the trailer of the problem area. Is the floor mount of the seat base still secure?
Is there any noticeable deformation in the body to allow it to gap away form the seat?
Will the seat base push back into place closing the gap? How is the door fitment?

The front bench does not seem to move.

The metal support fits tight at the top midway it starts to gap and is not connected at all towards the bottom

The metal is there to support the hinges and maintain the shape of the wall so it needs to be tight to wall. Mine is mounted with pop rivets maybe yours needs some replaced. Also check that some of the screws that hold the seat base in place haven't disappeared.
While your in the seat area ensure the body to frame mounts are tight.
The strength of our campers is the some total of all fasteners so a tab here or screw there won't necessarily cure all it's woes.

tabbing is a fiberglass boat building term. It is a method off adding a structural piece of material onto the surface of another piece using fiberglass cloth and resin. I am including the description of tabbing and a video link

Featured snippet from the web

Most fiberglass boats are built with plywood bulkheads laminated to the hull for strength. Typical construction (called "tabbing") involves bonding bulkheads to the hull with strips of fiberglass cloth wetted with polyester resin. Done correctly, these tabs give an initially strong connection that seems permanent."

here is a video link showing this done with some pieces of plywood being joined with fillets and cloth using resin
