I need to replace my stop/turn tail light which is about 6-7 inches in diameter. Does any body know where I can get a replacement complete light fixture? My present light sockets are very rusty and not making good contact. I have done a little searching and cannot find one.

We found several places for the 6 7/8 reflect a lite lens. this one is cheeper, but since the lens is out of production its a little steep:

These are not round, but measure 8-5/8" L x 6-5/16" W x 2-1/16" D

There about the same as what Scamp uses now, but a third of the price.

I also found this 7" round, but you need a 1" hole, and its self grounding, which you cannot do on fiberglass, so you would have to attach a ground wire to its metal base. There are a bunch of 7" rounds out there, you just need to be sure they are stop, tail, and turn.

You can get the replacement socket fixture at lots of auto parts stores. Take the fixture in, someone in the parts department should be able to help you. Lots cheaper than replacing the entire tail light... unless you need the lens. The socket is riveted into the aluminum plate. If the socket is rusty, it sounds like the lens gasket is either missing or worn out. Cut a thin strip of buytl to make the gasket. It will remain soft so you can pull the lens off to change the bulb.

OR, you can change to LED. This links takes you to Princess Auto, but these are available lots of places in the US... especially through parts houses for trucks and buses:

Thanks for all the responses. I investigated it all and several other options and finally, went with the Bergman 92 series rectangular lights to replace my round ones. I had to modify and drill two holes but it appears it is going to work out fine. As usual, this leads to other things and in the middle of all, I decided to rewire the whole thing. Hope this helps someone else.

Tail lights

I have also the square lights and yet scamp tells me they should be round.....I think they are out of their minds. I have removed one of the lens and plate to try and fix the tail light. There is no way this trailer had round lights, there are no previous holes that show for round lights......I think scamp is not at all helpful and I've called them on several occasions.

I'm looking at the bargman 92 series and grounding them to the bumper....

Why ground it to the bumper ?

You should have a hot wire and a ground wire already, just put the ground wire under the head of one of the mounting screws as long as the backing plate is metal.

Tail lights

The RV dealership said I would have to ground the lights to the bumper. They have two grounding wires.
