Boler 1700 has the configuration of the main couch/bed being lengthwise, on curbside, and a permanently mounted bunk lengthwise above. The placement of the bunk is a bit odd, in that it is about 2 inches below the top of the main window., ie the window that is just above this bed/couch. So, if one is standing up, the bunk blocks the window, and makes the whole trailer seem quite dark.
So, given the fact that grandchildren are non existent as yet, I wondered about taking the plywood totally off the bunk. But it seems a great surface to throw the blankets, pillows on during the day. I also wondered about taking the plywood off, putting new side brackets to support it, and moving it up, perhaps 4 inches. Hope I described this okay. Any thoughts, experiences here? Hey, what about replacing the plywood with plexiglass, but who am I kidding, if it was left there, it would probably always be covered with junk! Thanks!
