Unhappy

I've not seen a site, or description of the original Boler "look". The neighbours just had a meeting of an Antique Car club, and it was wonderful to see all the old vehicles looking as authentic as possible. Our Boler, new to us 2 months ago, is a very dinged up burgundy! I believe it's a 1974, Canadian mfg. How can I see what it looked like originally?

hi there.

well like you i just purchased my boler just over a month ago and i'm well into the mods.

my boler is also a from 1974.

bolers made this year and up to 1975 were either all white or two tone. from my research, it appears that in 1974 the only colors that were available were white/avacado green and white/yellow, and white/light blue. i might be wrong on this, so anyone feel free to correct me, this is just what my research has turned up.

your burgandy might have been painted on later. an easy way to tell the original color is on the inside of the boler at the bottoms of the front bench, kitchen cabinet and closet there should be a color there. that color is the original color, unless that has been painted too.

in 1976 boler came out with more solid color campers like orange, yellow.

i just finished painting mine. it was originally white/avacado green, and the previous owner painted the green to baby blue. i jist finished painting at a solid green,

for more info on the look of original bolers goto this site;

there are online brochures from 73-80. the pictures in the brochures will give you a good idea of what the ''original'' looked like.

HAVE FUN.....its addicting working on these liitle campers.

My '76 Boler is the original two-tone yellow - the bottom half and top half are just slightly different. We love it! Alec

Thanks, folks. I can't believe I didn't see those pages on the web-site that was enclosed. You're right, these eggs are addictive! Thought I had read everything, many times over! And yes, the inside of front compartments is avacado-ish-so I guess that's it! Our burgundy is pretty sad, showing through strips of fibreglass cloth, etc. Lots of holes previously drilled around the door, for previous door handles, and padlocks. There are no cupboards above front or back bunks, unfortunately-I think that would be a great addition. Nothing done so far, except a good wash. But we're thinkin! Interested in the functional things inside and out, rather than the decorating stuff, right now. Thanks
