There's an app for that - Propane Tank Level Meter

I know there was a thread for propane level monitoring, but couldn't find it - even with advance search. Anyway, I saw this on Facebook this morning, and thought I'd share.

Looks like a great app, but with our tanks secured it won't work, at least not accurately. The info states, " If the tank is covered, insulated or otherwise physically damped in such a way that it cannot “ring” clearly, the measurement will not work."

I am going to tell my gas grill friends about it.

Meantime, I'll just keep pouring hot water down the side of my tank.

Interesting app, thanks for sharing. It seems to get good ratings, so might be worth the cheap price to try out.

At $2.50 a try, this person may make a lot of money. Can not see that it will work, outside, banging on your tank and recording the sound to determine it's volume level. JMHO.

I world think it works on tone, not volume. Kinda lot playing with glasses filed with water, a different tone for varying levels.
