This is a great forum full of even greater members

Wanted to take the opportunity to thank the members. I joined or at least started lurking at the beginning of 2023. I bought a 1990 13ft scamp last year and drove it coast to coast probably close to 10k miles. In the fall we sold it as it was still in decent shape, but I thought we'd try to upgrade. I saw (and missed) a number of decent deals. And stalked the usual places looking for something newer.

We considered a 16ft since I have 2 kids. But we come from tent camping, and still love to tent camp. The scamp allows us to easily sleep during travel. It's also a nice shed on wheels where I can safely store gear. But the smaller trailer is easy to tow, fits better in my driveway and fits in most any camp site.

So we were back to shopping for a 13ft. When I found a nice looking 13 in New Mexico I viewed it on a video call and decided to drive down 6.5 hrs.

A longtime member was willung to answer questions while I was looking at the trailer. There was an issue that concerned me, so I walked from the deal. The member suggested I contact a couple of other well known members after pulling from the deal. These two talked me off the ledge and explained that the issue wasn't really a big problem. They even provided suggestions on how to rectify the issue.

After a week the seller contacted me asking if I wanted to make a revised offer. The reassurance i received from the forum helped me decide to pull the trigger. I drove back down and picked up a pretty nice 2015 layout 1.

Thanks to everyone who contributes positively to the firum. And an extra thanks to Jon, Floyd and Eddie.
