Tile battery change

I run 4 tiles on four sets of keys and have just started my third year with them. I like them and have found both my keys and the phone a few times, but one question. Why do all four notify me to change the batteries on the same day at the end of one year. Is it a timed event of do I just get well matched batteries? The voltage is still well over 3 volts. (remember, a Tile is not a tracker.)

He is talking about these. Some people thought you could put one in a camper and then track it when it was stolen. But as was pointed out.. they are not a tracker in that sense and will not work unless your camper is only taken a few hundred feet, so perhaps a different forum would have the answer.

It sounds like a timed event: (And shamefully, planned obsolescence.)

Question Feature?

After reading the link in Alan's post, I am inclined to agree. My guess is that it's a timed "feature" of the associated app and not necessarily something in each of the tiles.

Some do now have a replaceable battery but are not water proof. Well worth the price if they NEED replacing but mine were well over 3 volts yet.
