Sorry Rick, what you are asking has much more to do with how you pack, then the trailer. It is a good rule of thumb that the tongue
weight should be about 10% of the total, loaded
weight of the trailer.
If your stuff is ahead of the
axle, the tongue weight goes up, if it is behind, then the tongue weight goes down.
Things on the tongue, like batteries,
propane tanks, spare
tires, (that's what is on the tongue of my
Trillium 4500) will add to the tongue weight. I needed to increase my tongue weight, because I put a 500 lb cargo platform on the back of my trailer. This, by the way, is considered to be a bad idea. Excess weight behind the
axle makes for an unstable trailer. It worked out for me though. Those
Trillium trailers seem to be fairly stable.
Ideally the cargo should be ahead of the
axle with as little behind the axle as possible.
