Trails West Campster - Original MSRP? (1970)

Hello. I own a 1970 Trails West Campster. I'm currently speaking with insurance agents about prices for insuring the trailer. The problem I am running into is that insurance companies are saying they require an original MSRP for the trailer, in order to offer a price for insurance.

I'm being told that the system they have access to, which checks MSRP on vehicles and trailers doesn't show information for trailers as old as mine.

Does anyone have any original documentation showing the MSRP for any Trails West Campster year?

If it helps my version does not include the propane furnace, and does feature an ice chest.

I know its a long shot, but I figured I would ask...

Look in the files for the brochure. There was a price written on it though it was a dealer price, I'm sure, not an MSRP. But I was able to insure mine for what I paid. You might try a different insurance company. (I used State farm but had my auto insurance with them, too.)

Insuring trailer

We registered our 1978 Boler trailer similar to cars (for purchase price) but also insured it with a rider attached to our home insurance policy for a reasonable replacement cost. Both were relatively inexpensive. Had a claim once for fibreglass damage which was claimed under the home insurance rider. No problem with getting the damage repaired and the claim honoured for the cost of the repair. This was in British Columbia, Canada a number of years ago.

You might ask the insurers if they offer stated value coverage, you select the value of coverage you want. I have my TT covered that way, the stated amount I use is it is more than what I payed for it. I speculated for a replacement in this market, the way Bigfoot and fiberglass trailers hold and increase in value and are hard to find!

Added Info: We agree with Martin A. The amount of coverage on the rider was for “stated value”.
