While towing our trailer through the campsite we got too close to a tree and hit a dip in the road, the trailer tipped sideways impaling itself on a partly sawed off branch - so we tore a three foot hole in the side of our trailer.
Thank God for all the RVer's at the campsite who ran over and sawed off the branch and actually wedged the trailer over to give me clearance to back it away from the tree. Am taking the trailer to an autobody place for repairs - we dont have a trailer body repair shop close - was wondering is there anything I need to ask for or watch out for. Thanks for your imput.

I see you live in the West Kootenays. Maybe Nelson has a boat repair shop.
Just found this.

Thanks so much for the source in Nelson it gave me the idea to look up boat repair in the yellow pages and so I found a place in Castlegar (which is closer) that repairs boat hulls and does gel coat - so my guess is that the autobody place will be able to fix the fiberglass but not the gel coat?

Yup, gotta watch out for those pesky trees. Sorry to hear about your freak accident and the damage to your trailer.
About 10 years ago we had a tree blow down onto the hood of our old Subaru. A big branch punched a hole in the hood, but the dinky spare tire protected the engine. We cut up the culprit into firewood.
My folks had a tree branch hole in their camper... They repaired the outside and put a pretty sticker on the inside, and loved to tell the story.

I would try a boat place for all repairs.

Unless it's a Corvette dealer, a boat place knows a LOT more about fiberglass and gelcoat than an auto place.
