Hello,

I have some lenses left over after converting my
Trill to LED clearance lights. They are OEM and

Hey Larry, I am actually thinking of changing my clearance lights on my '76 Trill to LED as well. Do you have any photos you can share? Do the LED's make a noticeable difference?

Thanks,
Clayton

LED Clearance Lights

Hello Clayton,

The reason I replaced the clearance lights was that the
old bases had deteriorate to the point of falling apart
when I was replacing a burned out bulb.

Special replacement fixtures were not purchased. I can't
remember whether if the new ones were from from MalWart
or the auto parts store as they were on hand for
a while before the installation. Anyway, the new ones are
standard trailer parts that had incandescent bulbs in
them. The LED bulbs were ordered from Ebay $5 (Hong
Kong -see link) to replace the bulbs.

After drilling out the rivets that held the original lights
larger sheet metal screws were used to hold the new ones.
The installation would have been a little neater if spade lugs
crimped onto the negative/white wire had been used.
Hmmm, could have also tinned the wires.

The trailer has not been on the road since the new
lights were installed but they are bright enough and
should be easier to maintain than the incandescent bulbs.

I hope this long winded blurb helps.

BTW - Frank will be getting the old lenses : )
