Trillium 1300 duotherm gas control

Our trailer has a duotherm gravity furnace installed in it. It worked great for a couple years but then the pilot tube crack/broke due to vibration and i have been battling with it ever since.

At this point diaphragm is torn and requires replacing. Is there any hope of finding a diaphragm for the ITT geneal controls rv18aa06 or am I looking at a whole new gas controller?

Anthony, You may find that replacing the whole valve is a bit more complex then you think. The currently available valve that replaces yours is likely one of these:

This valve has different port locations, so some tube bending would be required. Also this valve would have an external thermostat. Most early Trilliums used a bulb style temperature sensor. What Duo-Therm furnace is this out of?

For an upcoming thread, I have just recently dissected an RV18AA02. This is the gas valve that is in Duo-Therm models 65211-2 (early 1300) 65810-002 (Later 1300) and a 65512 (4500) furnaces.

I suspect the model number of your gas valve is ITT RV18AA06. Please see the attached pictures. If you think the diaphragm is the same, the I will send it to you, for the cost of shipping.

Dave,

My furnace is a 65211-2 unit. I was mistaken in the model number of my controller it is an ITT RV18AA06 (I have updated the opening thread to reflect this error).

The Diaphragm from yours looks like it would work and I'd gladly take it off your hands. I'll PM you with my shipping information and let me know what I owe you and how I can get you that money.

I see the temperature sensing bulb in your picture. So yours is not a milli-volt thermostat model. I now wonder what the six at the end of the part number means?

Trillium 1300 duotherm gas control

I received the diaphragm from the RV18AA02 and it fits perfect in the RV18AA06. Will install the controller this weekend most likely and give it a test run.

Thanks again Dave and shoot me a message with your email so I can square up with you.
