Trillium Mystery: Anyone know what the HECK this thing is for?!?

1980 trillium 1300 with a black plastic thingy, just above the center light that’s above the dining table.

To hold some kind of shade?

It looks pretty old, was wondering if anyone recognized it as a stock item.

Thanks all!! Happy quarantining!

Hi---I have a similar one, in an old sticky trailer. Mine is the backing plate for a battery-powered light. Perhaps yours is too.

Mine isn't original. Added by the last owners.

It might be a wall mount for a vintage radio like the GE Bathmate.

That would be awesome!! I’m gonna look for that radio now, I love vintage ephemera. My trillium closet is now a record player nook full of vinyl and a turntable with a marine speaker pointed outside

Thanks for chiming in!!
