I picked up this Trillium a few months ago and am working on getting it ready for our first outing! However, there is a shade covering the front window (the bunkbed end) that is supposed to pop up and I cant seem to figure it out!

When I pull out from the bottom, it gives but it appears that it might be locked down by either 2 bolts on each side - (pic shows one bolt with nut and one without):

Or by a wingnut on each side:

In both cases I have remove the nuts and have just the end of the bolt sticking out - which Im afraid to mess with too much in case they fall inside. And Im afraid to pull on it much harder in case I break something.

I am unable to access it from the inside since the window is in the way and doesnt open enough to even see whats going on in there.

I'm stumped... ...any suggestions?

Wendy, the wing nut when loosened, allows the bolt to be pushed in and release an aluminum "V" catch. If the bolt is rusty, spray some rust-spray or WD40 and let it sit for a while. Then put the wing nuts back on just at the end of the bolt and push in . You might have to push the gravel guard in towards the trailer to aid in releasing the catch. Good luck....Alistair
