Universal Screen Door Needed

Has anybody found a good screen "door" attachment that can be easily mounted inside an FRGV? What I have in mind is one of those curtain-like things that serve to keep flies out, but which just brush aside for entry and exit. I guess I could just buy some mosquito netting and mount it with strips of Velcro, but if somebody makes a kit to do all of this, I can avoid "reinventing the wheel."

TIA ~ Froggie

We've seen all manner of DIY screen doors here on FiberglassRV. Don't know anything about this one other than what I've seen on the infomercial... looks good from that: https://www.buymagicmesh.com/?tag=im...a_bid=d330313e Watch the video...

Donna,

I have one but haven't figured out how to mount it yet.

Norm, like Judy said... maybe velcro? Other than the outrageous expense... is there a reason you've chose not to install a Scamp bi-fold? I really like the one in my Scamp

In my Casita 13, with carpeted walls, I slid in 3 drapery hooks above the door. I have mosquito netting stapled to a dowel rod that is held up by the hooks when necessary. The hooks get turned into the surface of the carpet when not in use so no one gets their eye put out. The dowel and netting rolls up into an old tent pole sleeve when not in use. It's not elegant but works well. (Of course my favorite camping involves NO BUGS!) Not sure how it work work in other trailers. Good luck in finding something which works for you!

Donna, I bought one because it was on sale. I am considering a bi-fold. What do they cost?

Wow, this is the fastest and best response I've ever gotten to any question on any forum! Thanks to all of you. One more question, if I may be so bold... can anybody tell me anything about the sort of soft door with a curved zipper opening that I have seen on pictures on the random display that appears at the top of our opening page? Thanks again!

Norm, I think they're right at $200, that includes the frame... see this info here: http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...bay-38172.html

Donna,

Does the door have tracks at the top and bottom like most bifolds?

To add, freight can be upwards of $100 (per the Scamp supply guy). For some reason, he cdn't give me an exact number, just a guesstimate.

The Scamp bi-fold doesn't have to use the track though, it just depends on what mounting system you use. Scamp provides the Johnson hardware, when that wore out on my Scamp, I chose to use three piano hinges. Works just as well, and no more falling out of the track due to worn out hardware.

I found the zippered screen door I was thinking about, installed on a U-Haul camper. Does anyone know if one like this is available for purchase now as an aftermarket unit?

Thanks again,
Froggie

Norm I have the scamp bifolds and they are great - worth every penny.
At rallys they are the one item I am most often asked about! People see them and want them.

Charlie, the closest (recently) that I've see is the one DannyH MADE for his Scamp. I've seen it in person and it's totally cool. See this link for more info:
