I once owned an older Scamp that was registered as a Scam. I tried to get it changed, DMV checked the previous out of state registration and it was registered as a Scam and they would not change it. So I owned a 13 ft. Scam trailer. I also owned an Everland trailer. It just depends who is entering the data but once entered it is hard to get it changed.

Correct, all the DMV can do is check to see if the trailer is stolen, if it has a duplicate VIN or if there are liens against it.
