VIN number on 1984 Scamp

Hi--Restoring a 1984 Scamp 13 footer - I need to do a tracing of the VIN# plate on our trailer for NY State Motor Vehicle Dept. - can someone tell me where the VIN# plate or engraving is on this unit? Thanks a lot - Jeff in NY

Morning Jeff. On my 88 Scamp the VIN is stamped on the frame about 6 inches away from the hitch coupler on the door side of the frame. When I purchased the Scamp the VIN was hidden under about 5 layers of paint. Some paint stripper took care of that in short order. Did a rubbing and repainted.

Also look inside of the frame in the tongue area, you may find a sticker someplace in there.
